(Ecofin Agency) - After the success of the first Tendrara well (TE-6), Sound Energy has commenced the drilling of the second well TE-7 at Tendrara, onshore Morocco.
The sub-horizontal appraisal well was spud on August 25, 2016, with the aim of ascertaining sufficient gas volumes and well deliverability to allow for the completion of the field development plan and a concession application and also determining the benefits of sub-horizontal drilling. The TE-7 well is located about 830 metres to the Northeast of TE-5 and some 1.6 km from the TE-6 site. Drilling is scheduled to reach a total measured depth of 3440 meters. Specialized tools will be used to geo steer the well at an 88 degree angle inside the TAGI reservoir to guarantee a horizontal drain of between 600 and 900 metres.
The drilling programme on TE-7 is expected to be in three phases. The first phase will involve the Drilling and logging of the well. This will take approximately 54 days. The Phase 2 includes Completion and stimulation of the well and this will last for about 30 days while the third phase will consist of the Clean-up and initial well testing (which will take up to 10 days).
The final results of the well will be announced after the first well test and will be followed by an extended well test which will take approximately 70 days. The aim of this test is to confirm production sustainability and to aid a complete field development planning, Energy-pedia reports.
