(Ecofin Agency) - The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari (photo), has again written, demanding a longer period of rest in the UK.
According to Vanguard, Buhari wrote through his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina on Tuesday.
“President Muhammadu Buhari thanks millions of Nigerians who have been sending good wishes and praying for his health and well-being in mosques and churches throughout the country. He wishes to reassure Nigerians that there is no cause for worry. During his normal annual checkup, tests showed that he needed a longer period of rest, necessitating the President to stay longer than originally planned,” he said in a statement.
This is the second time the President which is currently on a medical leave is writing to seek for a leave extension since he left on January 23, 2017, leaving the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo to act on his behalf.
However, this is the third time the president will be transferring power to the Vice-president to act on his behalf as president, since he came into office in May 2015.
