Egypt, Indonesia Set for Tight Race as World’s Top Wheat Importer

Egypt and Indonesia will compete closely for the position of the world’s largest wheat importer in the 2025/2026 marketing year. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) expects both countries to import about 13 million tonnes of wheat by the end of the campaign in June.

This projection places the two nations at the top of global demand and highlights their growing influence in international grain markets.
