Axian Telecom partners with Oracle to unify management systems
Platform to enable AI rollout, improve governance and decision-making
Transformation supports NEXT 2030 strategy and regional expansion
African telecoms group Axian Telecom has signed an agreement with U.S. technology company Oracle to modernize and unify management systems across its operations.
By standardizing processes, data and operating models, the company aims to build a single digital platform to support the rollout of artificial intelligence features across its business.
In a statement on Monday, the group said the transformation will cover Yas, its telecoms brand, as well as its wider portfolio. This includes TowerCo of Africa, which operates telecoms infrastructure; STELLARIX, which provides digital solutions; Zuku, an internet and TV services provider; and MVola and Mixx, which offer mobile financial services. Implementation is set to begin in Tanzania later this year.
The new platform will strengthen governance, provide real-time visibility across the business and enable faster, data-driven decision-making, particularly in finance and supply chain, the company said.
Axian Telecom said the program is a key pillar of its NEXT 2030 strategy, aimed at supporting expansion and diversification across Africa.
The group currently provides mobile and fixed services under the Yas brand in Tanzania, Madagascar, the Comoros, Togo and Senegal. As of end-December 2025, it had 43.7 million mobile subscribers, 14.05 million internet subscriptions and 17.83 million mobile financial services users. It ranks sixth among mobile operators in Africa.
Axian Telecom reported revenue of about $1.69 billion in 2025, up 20% year on year. Growth was broad-based, with digital and mobile financial services rising 28%, mobile and fixed services up 18%, and infrastructure up 21%.
