Many Peaks confirmed a 1.3 million-ounce gold resource at the Ferké project
The discovery supports Côte d’Ivoire’s target to reach 100 tonnes of gold output by 2030
The company plans further drilling and a prefeasibility study by end-2026.
Australian mining company Many Peaks Minerals confirmed on Monday, April 20, the discovery of a first deposit at its Ferké gold project in Côte d’Ivoire. The project now hosts an initial resource of 1.3 million ounces, making it the latest asset in the country to surpass the symbolic one-million-ounce threshold.
The company stated that it achieved this milestone after 13 months of exploration work on the site. The estimate relies primarily on the Ouarigue prospect and marks a key step in the project’s development. The result should support ongoing work toward a prefeasibility study expected by the end of 2026, which will assess the initial economic parameters of a potential gold mine.
For Côte d’Ivoire, the announcement highlights once again the scale of the country’s gold potential. The Ferké project joins several other developing assets that exceed the one-million-ounce resource threshold, including Boundiali and Napié operated by Aurum Resources, ABC operated by Resolute Mining, and Afema operated by Turaco Gold.
Together, these projects define the next generation of gold mines in the country. They support a sustained increase in production, with a target of 100 tonnes by the end of the decade, compared with 58 tonnes in 2024.
In this context, Many Peaks plans to continue its efforts at Ferké. The company is conducting drilling campaigns to expand resources by the fourth quarter. At the same time, other companies are positioning themselves in the sector. For example, Canadian junior Awalé Resources aims to publish a maiden resource estimate for its Odienné project in 2026.
