Discover Airlines, Lufthansa Group’s leisure carrier, plans to expand its Morocco network with new direct routes to Agadir and Fès beginning in October 2026, as European carriers increase connectivity to North African tourism destinations. Announced on March 9, 2026, the expansion will add new links from Germany to two of Morocco’s major tourism hubs during the winter travel season.
The airline said it will operate two weekly flights between Frankfurt and Agadir and one weekly flight between Munich and Fès, the latter representing the only direct connection between the Bavarian city and the Moroccan destination. The new services will complement Discover Airlines’ existing routes to Marrakesh.
The flights are scheduled to run from late October 2026 until the end of March 2027. Frankfurt-Agadir services will operate on Mondays and Fridays, while the Munich-Fès route will run once a week on Sundays. With the additions, Discover Airlines will operate up to 16 weekly flights to three Moroccan destinations during the winter season.
The expansion reflects growing European demand for Moroccan tourism, which, according to the World Bank, accounts for about 7% of Morocco’s GDP and more than 20% of export revenues. In 2024, Morocco welcomed about 17.4 million international visitors, a record that surpassed pre-pandemic levels, according to the country’s tourism authorities. Increased air connectivity from Europe, particularly Germany, is expected to support visitor flows to cultural hubs such as Fès and coastal destinations like Agadir.
