South Korea commits $20 million to support cancer treatment in Uganda.
The program targets cervical cancer prevention, treatment, and health system governance.
The initiative includes infrastructure upgrades and training for healthcare professionals.
South Korea has allocated $20 millions to support cancer treatment in Uganda, Dohoon Kim, director of the Korean Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH), said.
According to a statement published by the Ugandan government on March 24, the project aims to strengthen health system governance while improving prevention and treatment of cervical cancer.
The initiative will also modernize healthcare infrastructure and build capacity among medical professionals. Authorities expect the program to enhance service delivery and expand access to cancer care across the country.
