Togo leader visits Kyrgyzstan to strengthen bilateral ties
Talks with President Japarov to focus on investment cooperation
Agreements expected, marking new phase in relations
Togo’s council President Faure Gnassingbé arrived in Bishkek on Tuesday for an official visit to strengthen ties with Kyrgyzstan. During his stay, he is scheduled to meet President Sadyr Japarov.
The visit is part of efforts to deepen relations between the two countries across several sectors. The two leaders are expected to hold talks on investment opportunities in key economic and social sectors.
Several cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed at the end of the talks, officials said, marking a new phase in bilateral relations.
The Togolese delegation will also visit economic, cultural and historical sites. The visits aim to share experiences and explore development approaches that could support future cooperation initiatives, the presidency said.
Togo and Kyrgyzstan have maintained diplomatic relations since 2015.
