(Ecofin Agency) - In Angola, Global Solutions will inject $113 million in the construction of an industrial complex which will be dedicated to the production of cooking oil and soap made from oil-production by-products.

According to Krisne Dambi, who heads the project, the infrastructure will be able to produce daily, 100,000 litres of oil and 100 tons of soap. After the contract for the project was signed with the technical unit for private investment in Angola, Mr Dambi told Macahub: “220 million litres of oil will be produced yearly and this will help satisfy about half of the country’s demand in cooking oil, which is around 450 million litres presently

Input needed by the plant will in the first three years of operation be imported from countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Brazil before being substituted by locally produced soya and sunflower grains. The plant is expected to start operating in August 2017.
