(Ecofin Agency) - In Senegal, Futurs Médias Group (GFM) has expanded with 3 new television channels, being iTfM, OléTfm and TfmReligion. Youssou Ndour’s media group thus beefs up its offer which was so far limited to Tfm, the parent TV channel, as well as radio Rfm and the daily l’Observateur. These three media are among those with the highest audiences in the country, each in its sector.

The same objectives are set out for the 3 new television channels, each of which is specialised. iTfM is dedicated to continuous live news coverage. It is modelled on BFM Tv or itélé in France. OléTfm is devoted to culture and sports. Its contents mainly target a young audience. Finally, TfmReligion or DinéTfm is the channel of religion and worship.

The management of GFM indicates that the 3 television channels have already started broadcasting in Senegal. The next step will be to reach the Senegalese diaspora. Within the group, a whole department has been created to take charge of the new TV channels. The management of this department has been entrusted to an experienced professional. This is Boubacar Bâ who joined the Youssou Ndour group after occupying the post of artistic director at Radiodiffusion Télévision du Sénégal (RTS) for many years.
