(Ecofin Agency) - Toward the aim of expanding its footprint in sub-Saharan Africa Engen an Africa-based energy company focusing on the downstream refined petroleum products market and related businesses has said it is increasing its presence in Mozambique through an antagonistic retail expansion. Petroleum Africa reports
The company is set on opening three service stations, one in Maputo and two in Inhambane. Meanwhile, it currently operates 16 services stations in Mozambique.
Construction on the new Maputo station is projected to begin in Q1 of 2016 once approval from the relevant local authority has been granted.
In Inhambane the first site will be a knock-down renovation to bring it to its full potential size-wise and to match the high global environmental, safety and quality standards of Engen’s retail offerings. The company started construction on the second Inhambane site in August. Both stations are anticipated to be completed before the end of the year.
Engen however, will continue on with its aggressive expansion plans into 2016 with a potential for four new sites in the works.
