Central African Republic: second reshuffle for the government in less than a year

The Central African president Catherine Samba Panza has proceeded with a second reshuffle of the provisional cabinet of Prime Minister Mahamat Kamoun (pictured) in less than a year.

Six new faces make their entrance in the government which is meant to lead the country till the advent of a new government following the elections scheduled in October and November.

Nicaise Samedi Kamoulaisse relinquishes his seat at the Public Safety in favour of Judge Dominique Said Pangandji, previously prosecutor of the Bangui court of appeal and before that chief of staff in the same ministry.

Diplomat Samuel Rangba, 42 years, senior official at the Foreign Affairs becomes its minister.

Lydie Florence Ndouba, senior official close to the previous president Patassé, becomes minister of National Reconciliation replacing Jeannette Déthoua.

Bruno Yapandé, minister under Nicolas Tiangaye, then adviser for Catherine Samba Panza, has been appointed as minister of Communication.

Sébastien Wénezoui, ex-deputy coordinator of the anti-balaka, is appointed minister in charge of Development in the rural areas, while technocrat Michel Bindo has been appointed deputy minister in charge of Planning and International Cooperation.

For the key functions of Defence, Justice and Territorial Administration and Finance the incumbents have remained the same.
