Singapore’s maritime transport firm Pacific International Lines has commissioned on October 31 a logistics centre it has established in Egypt.
Situated in Cairo, at the Al Tajamouat industrial park, the centre which covers 20,000 m² was commissioned as Singapore’s President, Tony Tan Keng, was officially visiting the Egyptian capital.
Opening the centre which is equipped with advanced security systems, and allows customers to better manage real-time supply chains, falls under Pacific International Lines’ strategy to expand its “land business”.
The new logistics platform targets companies established in Egypt but international firms also that wish to expand to the Middle East region.
“This in fact will help foreign investors, when they want to come to Egypt, to decide to come here because we can provide the logistics solutions,” said PIL managing director Teo Siong Seng at the launch adding that his firm intended to invest in other African countries, including Sudan and Ethiopia.
