Zenith Bank UK, the British subsidiary of the Nigerian bank Zenith Bank Plc, officially landed at the Dubai International Financial Center, official sources told Ecofin. This initiative is part of the firm’s strategy to position itself on the international market and cover more customers.
“Dubai is an important strategic market for Zenith Bank and our international customers based at DIFC. The increasing trade flows from Asia into Africa through Dubai makes the emirate an ideal destination for our regional office,”said Jim Ovia, founder and president of Zenith Bank.
Authorities of Dubai are also satisfied of the arrival of the Nigerian banking leader on its platform. CEO of DIFC Authority, Arif Amiri, said: “It is testament to the growing number of African institutions seeking to expand their global footprint while benefiting from the support of our world-class regulatory and legal framework”.
