The Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM) set a new record of market capitalisation on the stock market by crossing the FCfa7,000 billion (€10.6 billion) threshold at the close of the 09 July 2015 trading day.
The market capitalisation reached FCfa 7,035.34 billion on 09 July 2015, a progression of 11.32% since the beginning of the year, representing a gain of FCfa 715.62 billion. The upward trend noted since the end of the year 2012 is thus confirmed.
This new record set by the financial market of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) expresses the confidence of investors in the economic forecasts of this zone and the health of the companies listed on the BRVM, but also the result of international and regional marketing campaigns from the BRVM management.
The previous capitalisation record was set on 29 January 2014 with FCfa 6,024.41 billion.
