Isabel dos Santos (Photo), daughter of Angolan president, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, was just elected president of the general assembly of the Petro de Luanda football club, one of the country’s most popular clubs.
Founded in 1980, Petro de Luanda is led by a management team and the general assembly.
Aside football, the club which is sponsored by the state-run oil company Sonangol, headed since June 2016 by Isabel dos Santos, also offers rink hockey, gymnastics, basket-ball and handball.
Isabel dos Santos is Africa’s richest women with a wealth of $3.3 billion according to U.S. magazine Forbes.
Holding a degree in electrical engineering and business administration, the president first daughter acquired her wealth by buying stakes in profitable Angolan and Portuguese firms, that operate in the finance, media, energy and telecommunication sectors knowingly.
