The German automotive component supplier Dräxlmaier Group announced on November 9, 2018, that in 2019, it would create 4,000 additional jobs at its four industrial sites in operation in Tunisia.
This was announced at the end of a meeting between members of the group's administrative board and Youssef Chahed, head of the government of Tunisia.
Let’s note that Dräxlmaier Group already employs 9,000 workers in Tunisia where it was established in 1974. In the framework of the additional jobs to be created, the German minister for economic cooperation and development, Gerd Müller, during his visit in Tunisia in late October 2018, signed a statement of purpose for the creation of 7,450 jobs in the automotive sector by 2020. These jobs should be created by the three automotive groups already established in Tunisia; Dräxlmaier, Leoni, and Marquardt namely.
Dräxlmaier Group is specialized in the manufacturing of electric and electronic components for cars, households, storage systems, and plastic components.
