Finnish telecom equipment maker Nokia and French operator Orange have partnered with U.S. technology group Nvidia to test artificial intelligence-based network architectures.
The initiative centers on AI-RAN (Artificial Intelligence Radio Access Network), a concept that integrates advanced computing capabilities into radio infrastructure. The approach enables networks not only to transmit data, but also to analyze and optimize their performance in real time.
According to Nokia, the project combines its software solutions, including the anyRAN platform, with Nvidia’s accelerated computing technologies. Orange contributes its operational expertise by testing the system under real network conditions.
The goal is to improve traffic management, reduce latency, and optimize the use of radio spectrum, as data demand continues to grow.
With AI integration, networks can anticipate traffic peaks, automatically adjust resource allocation, and detect anomalies. This is expected to enhance service quality for users while improving overall network efficiency.
