The world top company in terms of water and waste management Veolia Environment announced, in a communiqué published in 13 November having won two contracts for water treatment in Zambia and Cameroon.
In Zambia, the French group won, via its subsidiaries Veolia Water Technologies and Krüger A/S, a contract of Euros 93.8 million on refurbishing and developing water and wastewater treatment infrastructure of the Kafubu Water and Sewerage Company (KWSC). The infrastructure is located in the Copperbelt region, Northern Zambia.
In Cameroon, Seureca, the advisory engineering firm of Veolia, received from the Ministry of Water and Energy a contract for the management of the Paepys project, on the construction of a drinking water treatment plant, which would enable the city of Yaoundé to increase the water production threefold. The contract is for Euros 12,1 million.
With a presence on all five continents with over 179,000 employees, Veolia Environment designs and implements solutions for water, waste and energy management which contribute to the sustainable development of cities and industries. In 2014, the group whose consolidated turnover reached Euros24.4 billion, provided drinking water to 96 million people and waste management services to 60 million.
