Brazilian-Belgian brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) announced in a release published on December 14, it was going to list on Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in mid-January 2016.
The world’s largest brewer who announced last November a formal agreement regarding a merger valued at €112 billion with SABMiller, also said it has already received approval from the South African Central Bank’s Financial Markets authority.
AB InBev said its entry on JSE was proof of “its commitment to South Africa and Africa who are key elements to the development” of the product of merger between the two brewers.
SABMiller is active either directly or through partnership agreements in 37 African countries.
According to Canadean, a London research institute specialized in the beverage industry; Africa is the most dynamic market for brewers, with an annual growth of 5% to 2017.
AB InBev is already listed in Brussels, New York and Mexico.
