Over the first 10 months of the year, one new car out of three sold in Algeria was from Renault, BFM Business revealed. The French manufacturer can congratulate itself on the investment of € 50 million for the construction of a plant in Oran, of which the Algerian state owns 51% shares.
“In Algeria, Renault secured a market share of 33.6% over the first ten months of 2015, against 26.2% over in the period in 2014”, Guillaume Josselin, CEO of Renault Algérie pleased with this success, declared on air. As a reference, in France, the diamond-shape brand only has 19.4% shares of the market.
The Oran plan which generated 500 jobs, is now joined by suppliers such as Joktal, for plastic injection moulding pieces. Another 500 jobs are thus expected in addition.
