The Ivorian economy should grow 9.8% in 2016 against 9.5% in 2015, Minister of budget, Abdourahmane Cissé, announced during a conference held on January 21.
This projection exceeds the 8.4% forecast by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at the end of 2015.
Mr. Cissé also said Côte d’Ivoire recorded an annual average growth of 9% since the end of the 2011 civil war.
To maintain this growing curve, the government adopted a 2016-2020 National Development Plan (NDP) which plans for global investments of FCFA29,311 billion (US $49.24 billion).
According to official forecasts, 62.4% and 37.6% of these investments will respectively be injected in the public and private sectors in order to reach an average growth rate of 8.7% between 2016 and 2020 as well as a lower poverty rate.
