On the losing end for three years now, Kenya Airways, in the framework of a restructuring plan, will sell 5 more of its airplanes and cut some jobs, Bloomberg reports on January 26 citing one of the firm’s executive.
“The plan, developed by McKinsey & Co, will be implemented over the next 18 months”, CEO Mbuvi Ngunze said. “It’s a comprehensive plan looking the implementation of various measures including cost management, refinancing business, commercial and sales efficiency and assets sales”, he added.
According to Ngunze, Kenya Airways plans to sell five more Boeings 777. It should be recalled that the firm sold some aircrafts at the beginning of the month to the American firm Omni Air International.
In 2015, the company got rid of 8 of its pilots and it is now planning to cut more jobs as it sold seven of its planes.
