Ivorian government has approved on April 27 a $US12 million loan agreement signed on March 21, 2016 with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), for the construction and equipping of a hospital in Youpougon, Abidjan.
This project is part of the Government’s sectoral strategy and Health Sector National Development Plan, which aims to support the strengthening of infrastructures and improvement of the quality performances in Cote d’Ivoire, said Government’s spokesperson in a statement.
The new loan follows another, a $12 million concessional loan, granted by BADEA for the development of drinking water infrastructure, in September 2015. With this BADEA has invested a total of about $145 million in Cote d’Ivoire over their 20 years of cooperation.
Construction companies have now been given many opportunities to exploit. Sources from government said call to tenders would be launched in the coming weeks or months. So far, no deadline has been set to develop the project.
