The Indian conglomerate Tata Group announced, on 26 October, having started negotiations with the Ivorian government for the construction of a 5-star hotel in Abidjan and the delivery of 500 buses to Société de Transport Abidjanais (SOTRA).
The CEO of the Indian group, Cyrus Mistry, made this announcement in Abidjan, following a meeting with the Ivorian Prime Minister, Daniel Kablan Duncan.
“I came to meet the Prime Minister to discuss business opportunities in Côte d’Ivoire in the transport sector through the supply of 500 buses to SOTRA and for the construction of a five star hotel in Abidjan”, Mr. Mistry declared, indicating that the high growth registered by the Ivorian economy stimulating his group into investing in the country.
According to the news website “Le diplomatique d’Abidjan”, Tata Group is also interested in mining the Ivorian iron ore deposits of Mount Klahoya-Tia (1.2 billion tons) and Mount Gao (1 billion tons).
