The European Bank For Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide a €1.1 million ($1.2 million) loan to Elec’ Recyclage, a Tunisian company specialised in the collection and recycling of dangerous and non-dangerous industrial waste.
Apart from the loan, the company will receive technical assistance and up to €118,000 grants from the European Union. The funds will be used to buy new equipment and introduce new technologies which will boost the company’s activities.
The agreement with Elec’ Recyclage Tunisia falls within the framework of the competitiveness programme launched by the EBRD in Jordan, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. Elec’ Recyclage Tunisia which offers its services to more than hundred Tunisian firms is the second Tunisian company to benefit from the grants and assistance in the framework of that programme.
EBRD informs that since September 2012 when it started operations in Tunisia, it has invested more than €732 million in 33 projects in the country.
