(Ecofin Agency) - Angolan Oil Minister Botelho de Vasconcelos has said that Angola LNG, is expected to resume production by June 2016.
The minister disclosed this in Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. He reiterated that the country’s natural gas processing was postponed in April 2014 because of a gas pipeline failure.
Angola LNG had announced in June 2015 that natural gas exports will only recommence in Q1 of 2016 while gas processing will commence in Q4 of 2015.
The company had also stated that it will extract, process and sell 5.2 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually as well as propane, butane and condensates, at the plant in Soyo, Zaire province.
According to Botelho de Vasconcelos the plant is one of the current processing units in the world.
Angola LNG’s partners are Chevron, Sonangol, BP Exploration, Eni and Total with 36.4%, 22.8%, 13.6%, 13.6% and 13.6% interests respectively, Macauhub reports.
