(Ecofin Agency) - ITC Global, on Tuesday announced that it has been awarded two contracts for the provision of remote offshore communications to five West Africa based floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels.

According to the satellite communications provider, the three years contracts includes the delivery of services to some leading European-based oil and gas companies like Saipem and Eni S.p.A.

The FPSOs, operates in Congo, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea respectively. Each of them are equipped with two C-band stabilized antennas, distributing between 4 and 10 Mbps high data rate service to the vessels. The custom engineered solution was created to support enlarged automation at the remote site, thereby decreasing the number of remote staffs needed on each FPSO at a time.

“While some oil and gas service providers have responded to recent market dynamics through consolidations and cost cuts, ITC Global is focused on putting customers in the best position to weather industry headwinds and be prepared for growth”, Joe Spytek, CEO of ITC Global, told Offshore Energy Today.
