(Ecofin Agency) - Clough Ltd and CH-IV international (both Subsidiaries of Murray & Roberts) have been awarded contracts in the oil and gas sector in Korea and the United States.

Clough was awarded a contract by Samsung Heavy Industries for hook-up services on the Ichthys liquefied natural gas (LNG) project’s central processing facility.

The company is to prepare and implementation offshore hook-up activities and assist in commissioning. The project would be implemented from Clough's office in Perth, while technical assistance is to be provided by Clough’s Korean joint venture, CloughCoens.

“We are very pleased with these awards, considering the low oil price and current pressure on the global oil and gas market. The Ichthys LNG project follows on a strong relationship with Japanese oil group INPEX over many years, as well as investment into the development of Clough’s hook-up capability and implementing key productivity tools and processes to reduce cost and deliver greater certainty of project outcome for clients,” M&R CEO Henry Laas said.

Meanwhile CH-IV International was, chosen as owner’s engineer for Eagle LNG Partners’ LNG production and export facility on Zoo Parkway, in Jacksonville, Florida.  CH-IV is to be provide the necessary engineering needed for conclusion of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) application. 

“CH-IV’s project may not be material from a contract value point of view, but it is another successful bid in the owner’s engineering space in the US,” Laas told Engineering News.
