(MEDIAMANIA)-Agence Ecofin, a leading African business news provider, has launched its Portuguese-language platform, Agência Ecofin, extending its reach to all of Sub-Saharan Africa.
The new platform aims to give business leaders and investors in Portuguese-speaking African countries access to comprehensive, pan-African economic coverage—supporting deeper regional and continental integration.
Earlier this year, Mediamania, publisher of Agence Ecofin, launched the English-language Ecofin Agency, which has seen strong growth, particularly in the United States, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, South Africa and Ghana.
“At the current pace, our English-speaking audience is expected to match our French-speaking readership by the first half of 2026,” said Benjamin Flaux, CEO of Mediamania.
Encouraged by this momentum, the company rolled out Agência Ecofin to fill a long-standing gap in business information for Lusophone Africa.
“Our initiative addresses this information deficit and will also help strengthen economic and business ties between Brazil and the African continent,” Flaux added.
Ecofin’s newsroom, now counting 53 journalists, has already integrated several English-language reporters and will gradually evolve into a multilingual editorial hub. The aim is to support the growing continental integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the rise of the world’s largest free trade zone, driven by Africa’s young, dynamic, and innovative population.
Ecofin also operates several leading African business media outlets on behalf of third-party publishers, including Business in Cameroun, Togo First, Bankable RDC, and We Are Tech.
Last month, the agency signed a strategic partnership with French business daily La Tribune, owned by the CMA Média group, and now oversees editorial content and commercial operations for La Tribune Afrique.
