Perseus Mining announced yesterday April 2 that it began commercial production at its Sissingué gold mine in Côte d’Ivoire where first gold bullion was produced in January 2018.
“Achieving commercial production at our Sissingué gold mine is a milestone for Perseus as we now have a second high quality cash flow that significantly reduces our reliance on our Edikan mine in Ghana for cash generation,” said Jeff Quartermaine, the CEO.
Thanks to this move, the company is on track to reach its production target of 140,000 to 160,000 oz for the ongoing semester, and between 250,000 and 285,000 oz for the fiscal year ending in June.
Let’s recall that the ASX and TSX-listed company also operates Yaouré project in Côte d'Ivoire, whose development is expected to catapult this year.
