Randgold Resources and Endeavour Mining have formed a joint-venture (JV) to explore their adjacent Sissedougou and Mankono projects, in Côte d’Ivoire.
They will respectively hold 70% and 30% interest in the new JV which will combine their permits. Randgold will operate the JV and both of them will contribute to the annual exploration budget.
“As the two largest producers in Côte d'Ivoire, with a strong presence in West Africa, both companies welcome the opportunity to increase their cooperation. This JV will allow us to accelerate exploration on our Sissedougou gold property while we continue to focus our efforts on our Ity gold mine,” said Endeavour’s CEO, Sébastien de Montessus (picture).
In Ivory Coast, while Endeavour Mining operates the Ity and Agbaou mines, Randgold Resource for its part operates the Tongon mine.
