During Q1, 2018, Avero Resources produced 68, 088 oz of gold in its mines in Burkina Faso and Liberia,. According to the company, this performance, which is a quarterly record, is in line with their production estimate this year.
In Liberia, the New Liberty mine achieved a record production of 27,870 oz, a 9% increase from Q4 in 2017. This performance is the result of optimization works (the commissioning of a tertiary crusher, and the installation of a second gravity concentrator) carried out during the period under review.
Meanwhile, in Burkina Faso, Youga and Balogo mines produced 40, 218 oz of gold, an increase by 39% compared to the previous quarter, a record level since the Youga processing plant was commissioned in Feb. 2008.
According to Serhan Umurhan CEO of Avero Resources, “recoveries at Youga improved, compared with the fourth quarter in 2017. Avesoro expects this to continue, with the addition of a new PSA oxygen plant in the coming weeks”.
