Roxgold achieved a quarterly record for the first time at its Yaramoko gold mine in Burkina Faso. Indeed, during Q1, 2018, the mine produced 40, 452 oz of gold. This feat, beyond the company’s expectation guidance, was made possible thanks to the processing of 71, 576 tons of ores, an 8% increase compared to the plant’s nominal capacity.
“We are delighted with the continued strong operating performance at Yaramoko which achieved record gold production of 40,452 ounces for the first quarter. This achievement was a result of consistent optimization and improvement at Yaramoko across all aspects of the operation,” revealed John Dorward, president and CEO of Roxgold.
During the period under review, the company initiated the development of South Bagassi deposit, which is expected to add 40,000 oz to the Yaramoko project's total annual production in the fourth quarter of 2018.
Let’s note that Yaramoko produced 126,990 oz of gold in 2017, and is expected to produce between 110,000 and 120,000 oz this year.
