Avesoro Resources announced yesterday June 19 results of an updated mineral resource and mineral reserve estimate for its Youga gold mine in Burkina Faso.
The mine is now expected to host 660,100 ounces of mineral reserves, up 29% (147,400 oz) from the previous estimate. Meanwhile both indicated and inferred resources increased 15% to 924,200 oz grading 1.73g/t.
The new estimate enables to extend the mine’s life by 2 years until 2027 with a total forecast production of 614,000 oz of gold. “This updated estimate for Youga consolidates the results of the successful 2017 drilling campaign undertaken in Burkina Faso,” CEO Serhan Umurhan commented.
Let’s recall that in Q1 2018, the company produced on its two assets in the country (Youga and Balogo) 40,218 oz of gold. A record level since the Youga plant was commissioned in February 2008.
