• Cybersecurity is central to Guinea’s digital transformation agenda

Guinea has launched a National Training and Refinement Center for IT to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities within the national police force. The center aims to equip officers with the skills to detect, investigate, and respond to cybercrime.

“Security today requires mastery of digital tools. Cyber threats are increasingly frequent, sophisticated, and destabilizing. No sector is immune,” said Rose Pola Pricemou, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, and Digital Economy.

The center is part of broader efforts to enhance Guinea’s digital resilience. In November 2024, the government introduced Djama Sutura, a national platform for reporting cyber incidents, managed by the National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI). Authorities say such tools require skilled public agents to be effective.

Cybersecurity is a top priority in Guinea’s digital transformation strategy. The government sees digital technology as a core driver of socio-economic development and national sovereignty.

According to the International Telecommunication Union’s Global Cybersecurity Index 2024, Guinea ranks in the third of five performance categories. The country scored 16.27 out of 20 for legal measures and 14.38 for organizational measures. However, it falls behind in technical capacity, training, and cooperation, earning a total score of 56.39 out of 100.
