The National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) has forged three new partnerships with academic and industry leaders across multiple governorates to accelerate digital skill development and expand high-quality ICT training opportunities for Egypt’s youth. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology announced the initiative on November 2.
The first agreement was signed with Innovation University in Sharqia Governorate. It covers joint training and research programs, as well as the exchange of scientific and technical expertise to equip the university’s students and graduates with ICT skills aligned with modern market needs.
The second protocol, with Petra Software Ind. in Assiut, focuses on implementing on-the-job training programs under the Digital Egypt Youth (DEY) initiative. The program aims to prepare young people for the labor market, provide hands-on training in real work environments, and create employment opportunities for top-performing graduates. The collaboration also includes applied projects designed to align technical skills with the demands of both local and global markets.
The third protocol was signed with ABS AI, a Cairo-based company specializing in artificial intelligence and data analytics. Under this agreement, the two parties will cooperate to enhance young people’s digital capabilities through training in AI, data analytics, and software development, while also providing employment opportunities for distinguished NTI graduates in line with Egypt’s digital transformation strategy.
Digital transformation and ICT capacity building have been strategic priorities for Egypt’s government for several years. Egypt's IT sector recorded 14.4% growth during fiscal year 2023/2024, becoming the fastest-growing state sector for six consecutive years. The continued expansion of the ICT industry underscores the urgent need for well-trained professionals, positioning NTI’s initiatives as key drivers in meeting the country’s rising demand for digital talent and supporting its broader digital transformation goals.
