The Digital Technology Park (PTN) in Diamniadio, set to become Senegal’s main innovation hub, is expected to open in March 2026.
The announcement was made by Alioune Sall, Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Economy, on Nov. 3, during a visit marking the official restart of construction.
Built on a 12.5-hectare site in its first phase, the PTN is designed as a fully integrated digital city. It will include three towers for tech companies, a research and innovation center, a startup incubator, an audiovisual production facility, and a training center to build local digital skills. Minister Sall urged contractors to meet deadlines and tasked the Operational Coordination and Monitoring Office (BOCS) with closely overseeing progress.
Originally launched under the “Senegal Digital 2025” program, the project was suspended due to technical and administrative hurdles. It has been revived under the New Technological Deal, a national plan to fast-track Senegal’s digital transition. The initiative aims to create 150,000 direct jobs and certify more than 500 startups by 2034, according to the Digital Ministry.
Located near the Diamniadio urban hub and major national infrastructure, the site is part of a strategy for more balanced regional development. Through the PTN, the government hopes to build a dynamic ecosystem centered on research, training, and innovation, while deepening collaboration between public, private, and academic partners. Officials also expect the park to draw foreign investment in emerging technologies and boost Senegal’s competitiveness in the regional digital economy.
