Huawei partners with Algerian startup Yassir to boost local tech solutions
Focus areas include cloud, AI, mobile payments, and digital infrastructure
Deal aims to reduce tech imports, support startups, and expand e-services
Huawei’s Algerian subsidiary announced a partnership on Sunday with the startup Yassir. The objective is to develop technologies tailored to the Algerian market and accelerate the improvement of digital services.
The partnership focuses on creating local solutions in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, server infrastructure, mobility services and mobile payments. It comes as Algeria seeks to reduce its reliance on imported technologies and build a more self-sufficient tech ecosystem.
By combining Huawei’s technological capabilities and industrial reach with Yassir’s strong local footprint, the two companies aim to stimulate innovation, support startup creation and strengthen digital skills development.
According to industry stakeholders, the partnership is seen as a step toward improving digital services, expanding electronic payments and reinforcing the country’s technological infrastructure in sectors such as transport, e-commerce and public administration.
