Chad hosts Azerbaijani delegation to explore tech cooperation
Talks cover infrastructure, cybersecurity, e-government and innovation
Visit follows January digital partnership agreement between agencies
Chad’s Agency for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies (ADETIC) hosted an official delegation from Azerbaijan in N’Djamena on Feb. 17. The delegation was led by Salar Imamaliyev, chief commercial officer at Azerbaijan’s Agency for Innovation and Digital Development (IDDA), and was in Chad to explore potential areas of technological cooperation.
ADETIC officials outlined the agency’s mandate and ongoing projects to modernize Chad’s digital ecosystem, the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Economy said. Talks focused on infrastructure development, cybersecurity, e-government and efforts to foster technological innovation.
The discussions also addressed digital transformation challenges and investment opportunities in Chad’s digital sector, the ministry added.
The visit follows a partnership agreement signed in January between ADETIC and IDDA. Chadian officials traveled to Baku to finalize a deal aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in digital transformation, innovation, e-government, regulation of electronic communications, and the development and export of digital products and services.
The partnership signals Chad’s effort to diversify its technological partnerships and accelerate its digital transition. Azerbaijan is known for its expertise in digitizing public services and deploying ICT infrastructure.
