Guinea’s Ministry in charge of Information and Communication Technologies said on December 20, 2025, that it has validated a national artificial intelligence (AI) roadmap covering the 2026–2035 period. The announcement followed a workshop held on December 19 in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

The strategic document sets out Guinea’s approach to the development, governance, and deployment of AI over the next decade. It draws on findings from the Artificial Intelligence Landscape Assessment (AILA), a diagnostic methodology adopted after several weeks of technical work.

According to the ministry, Guinea has become the first francophone country to adopt the AILA methodology, a step presented as a milestone in building a national framework for AI governance.

The roadmap is structured around three successive phases. The first focuses on establishing institutional, regulatory, and technical foundations, including data governance, skills development, and infrastructure. The second phase provides for the gradual introduction of AI solutions into public services, with the aim of improving government efficiency and service delivery. The final phase seeks to position Guinea as a regional reference for responsible and strategic uses of artificial intelligence.
