The Electronic Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority (ARCEP) announced it completed its 15th national audit of mobile network service quality. The operation measured key indicators such as call success rates, voice quality, 4G coverage and Internet connection speeds.
ARCEP states that “the results reveal better signal stability in several urban centers, reflecting operators’ investment efforts. However, weaknesses remain, mainly linked to energy supply, aging infrastructure and irregular coverage on some routes.”
This audit forms part of ARCEP’s recurring mission to ensure operators comply with defined standards. Service quality remains a major concern for Chadian subscribers, who face frequent outages, uneven connectivity and what they consider high costs.
The regulator says these controls support decision-making by identifying areas where operators must improve services and, when necessary, triggering corrective measures or sanctions.
Audit results aim to strengthen transparency among operators, the regulator and consumers. Authorities will also use the data to guide telecom infrastructure investment planning.
Chad recorded 14.5 million active SIM cards at the start of 2025, according to DataReportal data, underscoring the scale of user demand for better performance.
