ZTE took part in a 5G industry event hosted by Ooredoo Algeria in Algiers.
The summit featured network tests and demonstrations of 5G capabilities.
Operators are preparing the market ahead of a gradual rollout of 5G services.
Chinese telecom equipment maker ZTE said on January 28 it participated in the 5G Vertical Industry Summit held in Algiers. The event was organized by Ooredoo Algeria as part of efforts to prepare the domestic market for fifth-generation mobile technology.
ZTE, a supplier of telecom equipment and network solutions, works with Ooredoo on the upgrade of its telecommunications infrastructure. Its participation in the summit formed part of this technical partnership, with the company providing support for demonstrations highlighting the capabilities of 5G networks.
The event included speed tests and interactive applications designed to showcase network performance, particularly in terms of high data speeds and low latency. The demonstrations aimed to illustrate the potential of 5G for advanced digital uses and for data-intensive sectors.
Industry participants see 5G as a key tool to improve service quality and expand the capacity of mobile networks. The technology is also viewed as a foundation for the development of new digital services and applications for both businesses and consumers.
Through initiatives such as this summit, operators and equipment suppliers are seeking to prepare for the gradual integration of 5G into Algeria’s digital landscape, with a focus on network performance and next-generation infrastructure.
