Namibia plans to work with the World Bank to develop and implement its national digital transformation strategy, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies said in a statement on Tuesday.

A working session on the strategy was chaired by Linda Aipinge, the ministry’s acting executive director, and brought together Siddhartha Raja, senior digital development specialist at the World Bank, and Paul Seadan, senior digital development specialist at the Prime Minister’s Office. The initiative aims to accelerate the digitalization of public administration, strengthen digital infrastructure, and enhance the country’s competitiveness amid rapid technological change across the region.

The partnership is part of Namibia’s Vision 2030, which positions digital transformation as a driver of economic and social development. The World Bank will provide technical and analytical expertise to help identify strategic priorities, design key reforms and mobilize targeted investments.

According to the ministry, the collaboration will help better coordinate existing digital initiatives, including the digitalization of public services, modernization of the education sector and promotion of technology-driven entrepreneurship. The ministry added that no formal agreements were signed during the meeting.
