Côte d’Ivoire: Didievi Gold Inferred Resources Surge 119% to Nearly 1 Million Ounces

Inferred mineral resources at the Didievi gold project, Côte d’Ivoire, have reached 989,000 ounces at a grade of 2.5 grams per ton. African Gold, the project operator, announced the increase on Monday, June 23, reporting a 119% jump from its previous 2024 estimate of 452,000 ounces.

The updated resource estimate covers only the Blaffo Guetto deposit, currently the sole known discovery at the site. The 989,000 ounces fall just short of the one-million-ounce target African Gold had previously set for this new estimate.

Growth Potential

Despite falling slightly short of the target, this development supports the company's efforts to strengthen the project's overall profile. African Gold noted it has only tested Blaffo Guetto’s gold system to a depth of about 300 meters, suggesting significant "growth potential." Additionally, exploration work at the Pranoi and Poku Trend prospects continues to yield "encouraging results."

These regional targets remain central to a new drilling program scheduled to begin in July. The initiative also intends to expand the "resource footprint at Blaffo Guetto." Achieving these goals could reinforce African Gold’s long-term development plans for Didievi.

However, several key steps remain to advance this asset toward mine development. Converting current inferred resources into higher-confidence categories, such as indicated or measured resources and eventually into reserves, will be a critical milestone in that process.
