Senegal and the Federal Republic of Germany signed a €17 million ($19.7 million) financing agreement on October 8 to support vocational training and employment initiatives. The agreement forms part of the second phase of the Vocational and Technical Training and Employment Promotion Project (PFPE 2).

The project aims to strengthen Senegal’s vocational training system. The Ministry of Economy, Planning and Cooperation said it will finance the construction and equipment of training centers in targeted regions. It will also support the national Vocational Training Fund and implement accompanying measures to expand youth training programs.
