More than 400 schools in Zimbabwe will receive support under an $8.7 million program launched by Zimbabwe’s People’s Own Savings Bank (POSB) in partnership with the government.
The project also seeks to provide solar power and high-speed internet to 2,700 households and 400 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by 2027, particularly in rural and remote areas, according to the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC).
The initiative focuses on three key areas: clean energy, sustainable financing, and digital connectivity. It supports Zimbabwe’s vision to become an upper middle-income country by 2030 and advances its commitments to climate action and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 7 and 13).
