GSMA Concludes a Successful MWC25 Kigali

(GSMA)-MWC25 Kigali concluded today following three days of successful collaboration, innovation and thought leadership. This year’s edition convened senior policymakers, industry leaders, and development partners united by a shared commitment to advance Africa’s digital transformation through coordinated action across governments, industry and the development community. 

Across the conference stages, exhibition halls and the inaugural GSMA Ministerial Programme, participants underscored the importance of partnership in accelerating universal connectivity and addressing key barriers such as handset affordability, energy resilience and inclusive artificial intelligence (AI). 

The event showcased Africa’s growing leadership in digital innovation, highlighting transformative solutions driving progress across fintech, education, health and manufacturing. It also featured the launch of the Mobile Economy Africa 2025 Report, which revealed how mobile connectivity continues to power economic growth and unlock new opportunities for digitalisation across industries. 

MWC25 Kigali at a glance: 

  • Nearly 80 exhibitors, sponsors and partners 
  • Over 230 speakers and panellists across three days of keynotes, conference and summits 
  • Leading African and global operators, including Airtel, Axian Telecom, Ericsson, Ethio Telecom, Huawei, Meta, MTN, Orange, Qualcomm, Safaricom, Vodacom, ZTE 
  • The GSMA Ministerial Programme, joining MWC Kigali for the first time, convened 49 delegations from 33 countries and 16 intergovernmental organisations 
  • Co-located for the first time with MWC Kigali, FEWA’s one-day summit united AI pioneers, policymakers and innovators focused on AI solutions for education and workforce transformation in Africa 
  • Over 100 media and industry analysts from around the world 

As MWC25 Kigali drew to a close, GSMA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Africa’s digital future through collaboration, policy reform and innovation - ensuring that every African can participate in the digital economy.
