The executive office of the National Association of Communities of Benin (ANCB) opened yesterday a workshop themed “Harmonizing the process of implementation of land and domain rule at the communal level”. Regrouping various land management experts, the session aims to “develop appropriate solutions to sanitize land rule to better adapt it to communities across Benin”.
ANCB’s goal is to insure efficiency and pragmatism in the implementation of the land regulations in responding to situations that local populations face. “The workshop should help better understand the implications of land reform for communities governance, especially in regards to spacial planning or local economy, this is order put in place the bases of orientation, and eventually those for ANCB’s participation to land sector in the country and to advocacy and lobbying activities,” said Luc Sètondji Atrokpo, mayor of Bohicon at the head of ANCB.
Established in 2003, ANCB acts as a bridge between communities and authorities, defending their rights and interests.
