Morocco’s minister of agriculture, maritime fishery, rural development, water resources and forests, Aziz Akhannouch (picture), and Guinea’s ambassador to Morocco, have launched on October 3 a technial support and training programme which will benefit 130 Guinean lawyers and technicians. The scheme concerns domains such as cadastre, geodesy, mapping, and land registration.

In the framework of the programme, a delegation of experts from Morocco’s national land conservation, cadastre and mapping agency is currently in Guinea.

“An action plan and a strict planning were elaborated and approved; these focus mainly on providing support for the respect of Guinea’s legal framework, the development of land plans and technical cadastre cases, the densification of the geodetic network in Conakry. Also concerned are scanning and indexing of the archives of the land conservation office of Conakry, training and technical support related to cadastre, geodesy, mapping, land conservation, construction and equipment of a typical land block in Conakry,” indicates news website Aujourd’hui le Maroc.

Through this initiative, Rabat and Conakry aim to strengthen their cooperation, in regards to urban land management to be specific.
